"Fragmented Echoes" is an audiovisual piece by Goma Xantana featuring live musical improvisation by Clothing. It was produced especially for the 21st episode of “Hologramas”, an audiovisual series program presented by Túnel on 90.9 FM, a radio station from México City. This work delves into the dynamic interplay between sound and visual stimuli to create an atmosphere that emulates the exercise of remembering.

In this piece, Clothing’s live music dynamically influences the random selection and visual manipulation of images. Using recorded footage from Goma´s handycam and family video archive, the sound directly affects the visual elements, resulting in an ever-changing responsive enviroment. This process mimics human memory's fragmented and overlapping nature, where memories resurface in disjointed fragments, blending and intertwining without apparent logic.

Through the use of creative coding software like TouchDseigner, this piece aims to explore memory randomness. The selection of recollections triggered by external stimuli challenges the audience to reflect on how memories are shaped and perceived, exploring the fluid and often unpredictable nature of memory.
